Here’s the line up:

  • The 2nd Monday of each month: link up your “Kid friendly summer crafts”
  • The 3rd Monday of each month: link up your “Kid friendly summer recipes”
  • The 4th Monday of each month: link up your “How to stay cool in the summer heat”

Here’s our “kid friendly summer activity!”

So, remember last week when I told you how much we hated going outside in the Alabama heat?

Well, this week I’m going to tell you about a fun summer activity we engage in outside: miniature golf!

Miniature golf is fun at virtually any location, and you’re only out in the heat for a short time.

Generally, nobody is good at it {at least none of us are really good at it…}, which makes it even more fun.  I don’t know about your family, but in my family, we enjoy making fun of each other on the putt putt course

This activity is often cheap as well, making it a great summer activity.

As a matter of fact, we went today.  We were on the water, and there were some pretty crazy holes there…  I even took pictures!  And then realized that my transfer cord is at my house, and I am not

It’s just one of those things that everyone can do, and everyone can chat and spend time together while doing it.  It’s some great, inexpensive, worthwhile family fun time.

What are some of your favorite summer activities?

What Do Homeschooling Moms Do During the Summer?

Well duh, they think about homeshooling!

OK, sure, we think about other stuff, too:

  • fun {educational} stuff to do during the summer
  • summer reading programs
  • “Did I purchase all the curriculum?”
  • “Man, did we finish that *insert curriculum/subject here*?”

Kidding aside, summer in my house is time to play, time to relax, time to travel, and time to think over what worked and what didn’t work the past school year.

I’m working on lesson planning and reorganization for the coming year.  Will it work perfectly?  Shoot…  Will it work almost perfectly?  Right…

It is, however, a step in the right direction.  As many of you know, each year you revamp what you did the previous year.  You might have found a few things that worked well and decide to stick with those.  But there’s always room for improvement.

I’ll be bringing you guys posts that focus on organization, lesson planning, and reworking the workboxes.  Yes, yes I did lift a lot of ideas from other fab bloggers, so I will be sharing all the sweet goodness with you!

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe!
