Wowzer, it’s been one year since I started Sweet Phenomena!!!!

I had to post a little something thanking each and every one of you for making this past year possible.  I really couldn’t be where I am without you!

I hope I can continue to bring you tons of fun stuff for many more years!

Let’s take a look at Sweet Phenomena over the past year…

Sweet Phenomena started on a whim one day when I read a post by Lynda Schultz at My Heart’s Desire.  It was a post I had found through the Yahoo! workboxes group.  I had just discovered workboxes and decided I wanted to use them in our homeschool.

Since we were using K12, I wasn’t quite sure how to do it.  So anyway, I read the post on Lynda’s blog and thought, “Hey, I should start a blog to document our homeschool stuff.”

That was it.  Sweet Phenomena was hatched.

My first post was Wicked Workboxes.  It’s now the second most popular post of all time on the blog.

At that point, I was hooked.  I was looking for themes and ideas and tweaking the heck out of the blog.

At that point it was still just about documenting my family’s homeschooling, and trying to get a few readers.  Anna-Marie and Lynda were two of my earliest supporters, and they’ve been with me ever since!

There was a period of time where I posted virtually nothing last winter.  We had been sick, I was overwhelmed and just wasn’t focused.

Afterward, I jumped back in with renewed passion and won a blog makeover from Little Bitty Blog Design.  I was so excited to have a personalized design!

Blogged some more, thought more about my goals for Sweet Phenomena.

Figured those goals out.

Decided to move to WordPress.

Before WP

The blog right before the move to WordPress

Attempted the move myself, was 75% successful, but had to have some help.  Once that was finished, I immediately fell in love with WP and the Thesis theme.  It really gave me the motivation I needed and got me really excited about my blog.

Since then I’ve really focused on building the blog, engaging my readers, and getting into product reviews.

I’m not gonna lie, it’s fun getting stuff {and I know I’m not the only one that thinks that!}, but I really want to bring my readers products that they might not have known about otherwise.  I love sharing information.

I’m networking with a great group of bloggers now.  I’m meeting other bloggers, both in my niche and out, I’m attending my first conference soon, I’m making connections, I’m writing an ebook!!!

I’m so excited to move forward.  I love my little home on the internet and can’t wait to visit with you guys in the future!!

Thanks for sticking with me!
