Sweet Idea: The Non-Crafty Mom’s Way to Preserve Baby Clothes

Since Babydoll is our only child {and will be our only child} I have a severely crazy attachment to her baby clothing {well, clothing through age five actually}.  I didn’t save everything, but pretty much anything that had some sort of emotional attachment to it got stashed.

I saved this...

and this...

and this.

I always thought, “I’ll make these into a nice quilt or something.”  Who the heck was I kidding?!?!

I just learned to sew, and that is still wrought with much frustration and seam-ripping…  So do you think I’ve even attempted a quilt?

Um, no.

So the clothes just sit in a plastic bin in the attic.  I had pretty much given up hope until I found something that would work for someone like me that wanted a more modern twist on the quilt and something to hang on the wall.  Something to be given as baby shower gifts.  Something that anybody could use.

Keepsake Quilt, Needle and Thread Not Required!

How freakin’ awesome is this thing?!  A quilt on the wall wouldn’t go well with our existing decor, but a black framed thingy would.  It’s got a good amount of space for some of the most important clothing.

I like it and I must have one.

Have you done something with your baby’s clothes?  I’d love to see it!

True Confessions:  I did this post so I could a) share my excitement about finding something that I could use with all the clothes I’ve saved and b) win a ticket to Blissdom 2012.
