Food is Good #AbbottCFK #CBias

Last week we talked about the need for nutritional food for children in our country.  More than likely, there is a need in your area!

I detailed the Abbott Nutrition Pack A Snack program, and talked about ways you can help end child hunger in your area!

What Did We Do?

We decided we really wanted to make this bigger than we are, so we opened it up to our homeschool community.  Here in AL you have to belong to a cover school to homeschool, and each cover school is like a homeschool community.

Since the backpack program in our area is only able to accept cash donations, we decided that it would be a great idea to donate our items to the domestic violence shelter in our area.  We learned in December that at that time there were approximately 80 children living in the facility.  They are always in need of non-perishable food items.

We are still gathering items and will soon be delivering them to the shelter.  I know they will love getting these items.  The woman who runs their outreach is a great lady and is always so appreciative of any help that people can give.

What Did We Get?

Babydoll and I headed down to our local Walmart and picked up a few Abbott Nutrition products:  PediaSure, PediaSure Sidekicks, and Zone Perfect bars.  Babydoll was eager to try the latter two!

There was a surprising variety of Zone Perfect bars, so Babydoll helped pick out a couple of different flavors, reminding me that some people might be allergic to nuts so we had to pick a variety that was nut free!  We even picked up a few individual bars for her to try {she loved them!}.

Our next stop was to pick up some PediaSure.  Last time I bought PediaSure Babydoll was a baby, and they didn’t have PediaSure Sidekicks.  There was quite a variety of flavors and products, and we picked up a little bit of everything, including some stuff for Babydoll.  She liked the Sidekicks too!

Final Thoughts

No matter how large or small your donation is, I hope that you consider getting involved with the Abbott Nutrition Pack A Snack program.  There are a variety of organizations that would benefit from your assistance.  I know I can’t wait to get our stuff to the shelter!
